FULL-TIME STUDENTS will take a compulsory core module and three one-semester options, and write a dissertation. They will also take a compulsory (non-assessed) research methods module. There will be several MA options on offer, in addition to options from existing Masters programmes within the Department. It is possible for students to choose an option course from another Masters programme within the college, subject to the approval of the programme organiser.
PART-TIME STUDENTS will normally take the research methods module, the core module, and one other option in their first year. They will normally begin work on their dissertation in the first year of study, but will register for the dissertation, and two other options modules, in their second year.
Entry requirements
An upper second class honours undergraduate degree or higher in History (or overseas equivalent). Mature students from other academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
